Welcome back to Archery!

Re-opening procedure.

We are delighted to be able to start Archery again now that some covid restrictions have been eased.  We have been busy developing a new online booking system where you can book a session.

However, we will be opening up with careful adherence to the Scottish government's guidance and rules.  This means limited numbers and sessions to begin with until we can fully re-open hopefully later this year.

Process for restarting Archery

There will only be two sessions:

  • Family Session running from 6.30pm until 7.30pm,
  • Adult Session from 7.45pm until 8.45pm
  • All sessions will be booked in advance using our new booking system.
  • There will be 4 shooting lanes, with coloured cones for identification.
  • All children (under 16) must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Masks must be worn at all times.
  • Please follow any guidance and instruction given by the LCA members during the session.

Please note the entrance to Leith Academy is on the side of the building during Covid restrictions.

On arrival

Please come into the building by the door shown in the diagram here. (Download a copy).

When you reach the area just outside the hall you will be greeted by an LCA member who will:

  • Confirm your booking.
  • Go through some Covid related questions.
  • Ensure that you clean your hands with the hand steriliser.
  • Issue you with an Arm guard.
  • Give you a coloured cone that indicates the lane you will be shooting in.

At the start of your session
You will be called through to the hall. Please go to your lane (Colour coded cone).  An LCA instructor will then:-

  • Go through a safety briefing.
  • Talk through housekeeping.
  • Go through the LCA rules of shooting.
  • Take any questions.

During the session Instructors will be on hand to ensure that everyone follows social distancing and wears a mask.  The instructors will also advise on technique and be there to help.

At the end of the Session
At the end of the session the instructor will put sterilising wipes on the end of the bench. You will then be asked to:-

  • Wipe down the equipment.
  • In your lanes, one by one, to take the cleaned equipment to the table at the back of the room.
  • Leave the bows and arrows on the table.
  • Take off your arm guard and put it in the bag provided.
  • Wash your hands with steriliser provided.

At this point, you will make your way out of the Hall through the fire exit.
